Delete your Vura account

This page explains how to permanently delete your Vura Rider or Vura Driver account, what data is removed, and how to ask us to delete it if you cannot access the app. Vura is operated by Dorfnew (Pty) Ltd.

Delete your account in the app

Vura Rider

Open the app and sign in.
Go to Account → Support & settings → Settings.
Scroll to Account removal and tap Delete account.
Confirm that you understand the deletion, then tap Delete permanently.

Vura Driver

Open the app and sign in.
Go to Account.
Tap Delete account.
Confirm that you understand the deletion, then tap Delete permanently.

If you cannot access the app

Email us from the address on your account and we will verify ownership before deleting it. Send your request to info@ridevura.com with the subject Account deletion request and include:

Your full name as it appears on the account
The email address and phone number on the account
Whether the account is a Vura Rider or Vura Driver account

We may ask you to confirm ownership from the registered email or phone number. Requests are actioned within 30 days. If you no longer have access to the registered email or phone number, tell us in the email so we can explain the additional checks.

What we delete

When your account is deleted, we remove the account and the personal data attached to it, including:

Your profile, login identity, name, email address and phone number
Your profile photo and uploaded identity or driver documents
Saved places, payment methods and wallet balance
Emergency contacts, ratings, messages and support conversations
Your ride or trip history linked to the account, except records we must keep by law
Push-notification tokens and device identifiers linked to the account

What we may keep

We may retain limited records where the law requires it — for example completed trip, payment, tax, fraud-prevention and accounting records. These records are restricted to the purpose that requires them, are not used for marketing, and are deleted when the required retention period ends. See our Privacy Policy for more detail.

Before you delete: finish or cancel any active trip, withdraw any available earnings, and settle any outstanding balance. Deletion is permanent and the account cannot be recovered afterwards. If you only want to stop using Vura, you can sign out instead.
